Airbus Helicopters is looking for a
Development Engineer Airframe (d/f/m)
This department is responsible for the development of the helicopter structures of all new programs and demonstrators.
Your location
At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we develop helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.

Your tasks and responsibilities
Preliminary design of helicopter structures, with assemblies and individual parts
Implementation of all requirements from specifications, architecture, systems and specialist departments
Design of airframe components, assemblies and structures for demonstrators and prototypes
Integration of systems in the helicopter structure and implementation of the necessary provisions
Definition of the design documents for the first prototypes, up to series drawings
Coordination with the responsible departments Manufacturing Engineering, Work Preparation, Tooling Design and Manufacturing
Active participation during industrialization
Support for production ramp-up and design improvement projects
Management of the “flying fleet” (in-service events)
Contribution to certification activities up to the type certificate
Desired skills and qualifications
Three-year completed vocational training with qualified further training as a technician and significant relevant experience or completed studies (Bachelor) in the field of mechanical engineering, aerospace technology or comparable
Knowledge of composite materials and metallic lightweight materials
Helicopter and helicopter technology knowledge
Basic knowledge of aviation law (airworthiness)
Work experience in manufacturing is preferable
Very good analytical and conceptual competence
High level of flexibility, team spirit and and personal responsibility
Experience with Catia V5, VPM and SAP
Confident handling of Google Workspace
German and English: negotiation level, French is an advantage
