Airbus Helicopters is looking for a
Development Engineer Airframe – SDR (d/f/m)
Our department is responsible for the design (construction) of helicopter structures (airframes) for all new developments. We are significantly involved in all phases between preliminary design to series production. Our team has about about 60 employees in Germany and France with the main focus on Donauwörth. We work transnationally and interdisciplinary in all projects.
Your location
At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we develop helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.

Your tasks and responsibilities
Design responsibility for an entire system or subsystem
Coordination of all design activities for this system, including external partners
Development and design of individual parts and assemblies for prototype, pre-production and production helicopter primary structures
Design of complex fiber composite, milled and sheet metal molded parts
Creation of CAD models, drawings and parts lists including approval process as well as technical verification of all design definitions (drawings, parts lists, documents)
Technical verification (TVE) of all design definitions (drawings, parts lists, documents)
Desired skills and qualifications
Completed studies (Bachelor or Master / Diploma) in the field of mechanical engineering, aerospace technology or comparable
Knowledge in composite materials and metallic lightweight materials
Knowledge of helicopter and helicopter technology, basic knowledge of aviation law (airworthiness)
Several years of experience in the field of development
Experience with Catia V5, VPM and SAP
German and English: business fluent
